Hence, MaMaMu will strongly support and showcase board games in the expectation that quality scientific evidence will be forthcoming.<br /><br />The same positive effects are also likely to be associated with computer games and puzzles. For example, Bloxorz (click on the graphic below) has rich game play that children and adults adore. The Magical Mathematics Museum will aim to add a social dimension to some of these computer games and puzzles by projecting them on large monitors and designing the space to encourage multiple children to sit together to play.<br /><br /><table style="border: 1px solid rgb(204, 204, 204); margin: 0pt 0pt 10px; background: rgb(255, 255, 255) none repeat scroll 0% 0%; width: 99px; -moz-background-clip: -moz-initial; -moz-background-origin: -moz-initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: -moz-initial; height: 93px;" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><br /><tbody><tr><td style="padding: 5px 10px; font-family: verdana; font-size: 11px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><a href="http://www.miniclip.com/games/bloxorz/en/" style="display: block; text-decoration: none;"><img src="http://www.miniclip.com/images/icons/bloxorzsmallicon.jpg" width="70" height="59" /><span style="font-size:85%;"><span style="color: rgb(153, 51, 0);"><br /></span></span></a></td></tr></tbody></table></span></span>Dr. Gord!http://www.blogger.com/profile/17756017771286402741noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9058957750662542584.post-64774046784450011302008-11-03T14:14:00.008-07:002008-11-13T01:27:53.060-07:00MaMaMu: A Celebration of Struggling<span style="font-size:100%;"><span style="color: rgb(153, 51, 0);">Struggling with tough problems</span><span style="color: rgb(153, 51, 0);"> is at the heart of mathematics education so the </span></span><span style="font-size:100%;"><span style="color: rgb(153, 51, 0);">Magical Mathematics Museum will be a celebration of struggling</span></span>.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_YDWHUxpQPzUnMxbGJ63d17G4rAMOL1C9kYydolEBKz-870BzONzQs6LAOHvbcL8_my7MILnnbygB8hifdAKT_7ZTPPppZ78w7UAXaUgi3pUmXh0iJ8_zmE_LEtfc2ouI00M40fZLXFvT/s1600-h/Struggling.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 340px; height: 193px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_YDWHUxpQPzUnMxbGJ63d17G4rAMOL1C9kYydolEBKz-870BzONzQs6LAOHvbcL8_my7MILnnbygB8hifdAKT_7ZTPPppZ78w7UAXaUgi3pUmXh0iJ8_zmE_LEtfc2ouI00M40fZLXFvT/s400/Struggling.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5264543041274092322" border="0" /></a><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dwh1WY4QexXzvj2i6JGUgvcsSyBNHXAQQibN3JHTcsa3Wc6AP1uSPfhdppY1auavchHKjDGiCDoxhxg8f48EQ' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe><br /><br /><span style="font-size:100%;"><span style="color: rgb(153, 51, 0);">SNAP Math Fairs (www.mathfair.com) have students create their own version of a quality puzzle.
