MaMaMu: Non-Mathematical Themes

Most people envisage the Magical Mathematics Museum being organized like a math textbook or a university department of mathematics.
... but let's organize at least part of the museum whimsically along non-mathematical themes ...

Doug Cantrell (MGTaylor Corporation) brainstormed in an email: "...the aural expression of mathematics [is] music! [MaMaMu should include] games and activities that demonstrate mathematical concepts and relationships in music such as fundamental frequencies, harmonics, scales, intonations, intervals, groups, series, sets, transformations, inversions, transpositions, and temperament."

Gail Taylor suggested that I visit the learning exchange (www.LX.org), an organization that she founded in 1972. The Learning Exchange's central mandate is experiential learning. The area most relevant for MaMaMu is "Exchange City" in which students take on the roles of business and political leaders in a city. MaMaMu needs to explore the world of business / finance and economics. Exchange City is a powerful model to draw upon.
